Murchison River Lodge

Murchison River Lodge opened in 2011 and our ethos today remains the same; to provide a unique place where guests can experience wildlife, game drives, boat trips and comfortable mid-range accommodation in beautiful surroundings by the infamous Nile.

The eco-friendly lodge offers stunning views across the River Nile and Murchison Falls National Park. As part of this incredible ecosystem pods of hippos and herds of elephants can be viewed from the comfort of the restaurant and Uganda’s prolific birdlife can be spotted while walking the lodge grounds — a true taste of nature’s diversity right on our doorstep.

Behind the scenes at Murchison River Lodge we remain committed to actively engaging in education, conservation and women’s empowerment, including programmes that enhance the lives of the local community, including the men and women who work with us and their families.

Murchison River Lodge’s informal setting makes it a preferred safari accommodation choice, allowing families to relax and enjoy the proximity to wildlife, which can open a child’s eyes to the wonders of the African bush.

Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest wildlife reserve, is a relatively remote savannah park in the Northwest, bisected by the meandering Victoria Nile. The park is centered on a powerful Nile River waterfall, the Murchison Falls with wildlife, such as elephants, hippos, Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, crocodiles, and lions.
